Jumping into Decluttering

Getting Organized:
In your Home and Homeschool

Dear Friends,
With two major Holidays a week apart and regular schedules disrupted, today is the day to jump back into normal. I don’t know about you, but I have had to think hard each day as to what day of the week it is. It’s been a wonderful holiday season though.
Each evening I take a few minutes to que up my list for the next day. It really helps me to know what my focus is going to be once I finish my morning routine. I take a look at my calendar and the weather as I wind down after dinner.
Your mission today is open to what you need to do in Zone 1. It’s a Hot Spot Fire Drill for 15 minutes. Use this time to toss trash, add some items to the box of things to donate, and put some things away.
If you are leaving your Christmas decorations up for a bit, you can still do other decluttering missions around your decorations. No excuses today! Set that timer and get down to decluttering. Turn on the music and make it fun!
Your Habit of the Month is to shine your sink each night before you go to bed. If you have not established this Habit, it’s ok. Just start with it today. Put a star on the calendar each night if you want a visual reminder of your progress.
A shiny sink is the best gift you can give yourself each day. When you get up in the morning, the shiny sink greets you, and it just makes your day start off on a great note. I know you are tired after dinner. I am, too, but this is still a habit that I have maintained.
If you are feeling like you are drowning in clutter in your home, purpose to get rid of something every day. Use your timer. Let go of guilt that you have to keep everything that you have. If you have difficulty doing your Home Blessings because of the clutter, you will start to enjoy blessing your home more as you let go of clutter.
Your Zone Mission today is to declutter in the Zone 1 for 15 minutes.
Your Home Blessing for today is to dust, vacuum, wipe windows and mirrors.
My menu plan for Wednesday is New Year’s leftovers.
Have a blessed day!
