Shorter To Do Lists and a Happier Home

Getting Organized:
In your home and homeschool

Dear Friends,

Have you been buried under long lists of things to do this month? December is a busy month, and we start off with a long list. Sometimes it gets even longer. You start to feel stressed and discouraged.

Keep your routines simple, and keep your To Do List simple. If you find yourself missing things that you need to do, use a daily routine list for yourself. Use sticky notes for your daily To Do List and only put three things on the list. If you do all three things, you will feel successful. If you have time to do something else, you can always check your master list for something else.

The way I structure my days is that I do my routines first, and then I can work on a project. That way my routines do not fall apart. I do my routines quickly, and I don’t procrastinate. Doing the routines daily keeps my house in good order. My sink is clean and shiny. My laundry is caught up. Everyone is dressed and ready for the day first thing in the morning.
Some of you like to jump into a project before you get dressed for the day. Next thing you know, it’s dinner time, and you are still in your jammies. It only takes a few minutes at night to lay your clothes out, and it only takes a few minutes in the morning to get dressed.

Teach your children by example by doing your routines. They will be more productive with their school work if they are not doing it in their pajamas. I only allow pajama day if the person is sick and is in bed.
Otherwise, everyone is to be dressed and ready for school each morning.
Another way that I work on my projects is to work 10 to 15 minutes on it in the morning. Then I can go back to it in the afternoon if I did not finish it, or I can move to the next thing on my list.

You want to be happier and have peace in your home. A consistent daily routine and a short To Do List will help you find peace and happiness.

Today’s Zone Mission is to declutter items from 1 dresser drawer.

Your Home Blessing for today is to declutter paper and magazines.

My menu plan for Thursday is chicken and a salad.

Have a great day!
