Some great news to share with you

Getting Organized:
In your Home and Homeschool

Dear Friends,
Happy Friday to all of you! I have big news to share with all of you. If you follow me on Facebook, you might have read my news already.
A couple of years ago, I did DNA testing with 23andMe to discover any relatives I might have. I was adopted as a baby in 1968, and I did not have information on my birth family. The only people I knew that I was related to biologically were my children.
Prior to the 23andMe testing, I did the DNA testing with another company. It did not reveal a lot of information on relatives, so I went ahead with the second test with 23andMe. They have a much larger database of people registered.
For a long time, I only had distant cousins on my DNA matches. I never really learned a lot from them. But all of that changed last week. Someone in Minnesota got a kit for Christmas, and when she got her results, she found me listed as a half-sister.
She messaged me, and it turns out that I have her and three younger half- brothers. They did not know about me, but they have been very welcoming to me. I have messaged and talked with them. Now, I know who my birth father is, and I hope to talk to him soon.
My main goal through the testing was to learn about my biological family to see if there were any big health concerns I should know about. So far, nothing has turned up that I didn’t already have an idea about based on my health.
It’s been surreal learning about them. We have lots of parallels in our lives. Some of my children have family names that I knew nothing about when I picked the names.
This is a little off topic from my normal articles, but I wanted to share my good news with you!
It’s Friday, so finish up you routines, missions, and home blessings! Have fun this weekend!
Today’s Zone Mission is to wipe your bedroom windows.
Your Home Blessing for today is to empty the trash, sweep, and mop.
My menu plan for Friday is take out.
Have a great weekend!
