Plan and Play Day with a Book Recommendation

Getting Organized:
In your Home and Homeschool

Dear Friends,
Happy Tuesday! Do you look forward to Plan and Play Day? I enjoy planning. I think it speaks to my mathematical side to do my budgeting, bill paying, and menu planning each week.
Spend a few minutes first thing on your gift list and budget. Has everything arrived that you ordered? Do you need to pick up stocking stuffers this week? What else do you need to do?
Your zone mission today is one that you can use to bless others. First, declutter in the silverware drawer. What do you have in there that is just taking up space?
Next, go through your plastic spoons, forks, and knives. Do you have more than you need to keep on hand? Consider donating the extra to a homeless shelter. I know I have a lot of extra plastic ware that is already in individual plastic bags. These would be a great item to donate.
Today might also be a good day for you to sit with the children and let them make a Christmas craft or sign some cards. Children really enjoy being included, and your family members will enjoy the little touches by your children.
For those of you with young children, I highly recommend reading Snowflake Bentley by Jacqueline Briggs Martin. It is a nice picture book on how unique each snowflake is and how someone figured out how to photograph them.
If you are doing your Home Blessings each day, be sure to budget your time accordingly. I know how busy the Holidays can get, and your tendency is to skip the zone missions and home blessings. Please resist this! It helps you so much more to keep doing them a little at a time each day.
Your Home Blessing for today is to dust and vacuum.
Your Zone Mission for today is to declutter in the silverware drawer.
My menu plan for Tuesday is chicken and a salad.
Have a blessed day!
