Are you putting off taking care of yourself?

Getting Organized:
In your home and homeschool

Dear Friends,
Do you put off taking care of yourself? In our busy lives, we take care of many things in the course of the day. One person we need to take care of daily is ourselves. We should not be an afterthought. We should not put off taking care of ourselves until we have “time.”
Not taking care of yourself can cause you to have health issues. Staying up late at night to clean the house does not allow you to get enough sleep at night. I understand that you are juggling a lot during the day, and you tell yourself you can grab some extra cleaning or decluttering time after the children are in bed. I submit to you that you can use the time after the children are in bed to finish your Before Bed Routine and have some quiet time before you go to bed.
You are trying to burn the candle at both ends by doing cleaning projects after 9:00 at night. You are stealing your sleep.
By going to bed at a decent hour after relaxing, you will get more rest, and you will have more energy during the day to work on these projects.
Some of you are arguing in your head with me right now. I have homeschooled for 18 years. I have balanced the needs of 6 children. I have learned my lessons the hard way that you can only push yourself so far before you feel the effects on your body.
If you have difficulty with your decluttering projects, you may consider getting some outside help during the day. There was a season when I had a few teen girls come to my home to play with the children in the afternoon while I did therapy with one child and did a few things around the house. It was something that helped me greatly during a very busy time in my life.
You do not have to do everything in your home that needs to be done. You can teach your children life skills, or you can hire some help. If your budget is tight, maybe you can barter services.

You need to rest daily. You need to drink your water (and watch the sugar and caffeine). You need to get in some purposeful movement. You need to eat healthy foods. You may need some extra vitamin D in the winter. You need some down time each day.

If you are feeling depressed, schedule an appointment for blood work. Have your vitamin D checked. Have other things checked if you have health concerns.
Please do not put off taking care of yourself. You need your health to take care of your family.
Your Zone Mission today is to toss out of date cosmetics.

Your Home Blessing for today is to wipe your windows and mirrors.

My menu plan for Wednesday is spaghetti and salad.

Have a great day!
